About the Artist:
Vincent Cascio is a seasoned photographer hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. At an early age, he discovered photography and has yet to find anything that brings him the satisfaction that this art form gives him. He moved to the San Francisco Bay area at a young age to follow his passion. While attending three Bay Area junior colleges, he honed his skills in advertising, art, photojournalism and photography. During these formative years, he was exposed to the work of Ansel Adams, Annie Leibovitz, Henri Cartier Bresson, Richard Avedon, Edward Weston and other trailblazers of his chosen meduim. The photographers that inspired him most were Richard Avedon and Henri Cartier Bresson.
Vincent has had his work in local studios as well as one person shows in California and continues to look for venues to show his work. Since the move to Northern Nevada he has made over 20,000 photographs from street fairs, produce markets, automotive shows, architecture, tiny planets, and street people. Vincent is constantly motivated and driven to discover new subject matter for his “Tiny Planet” body of work.
During his career, he continued to expose himself to new techniques; and fell in love with High Dynamic Range images. This process captured him because it brings out the colors and details of subjects in exciting ways. Photographing people, street people, and portraits has been the focus of his work. Recently, his work revolves around “Tiny Planets” a technique that involves combining many different shots in a time-intensive technique, culminating in an all-encompassing orb of the subject.
