Owner Shawn grew up drinking tea “the British way”- black with milk. She also read many books by Jane Austen and was entranced by the history and ritual of the Regency Era where “tea time” as central to the social gatherings of people of all classes. As an adult her interest in food lead to culinary classes, employment in the food industry at a variety of levels, including food management. She married an “amazing Welshman” who took her to tea rooms across Britain and America. The idea of sharing her passion for tea and food in the local community began in 2017.
Tawnya loved baking throughout her life and was constantly enlisting the palates of family and friends to refine recipes. She was never satisfied by a basic plate of brownies and determined to master some classical pastries and dishes that were considered more challenging, such as soufflés, macarons, pate choux, etc.
Once family and friends said that they couldn’t possibly eat another bite, Tawnya began taking treats to work for feedback from colleagues. Shawn was one of those colleagues and thus it began…..
We provide a traditional British afternoon tea tray service. Our menu changes monthly and includes, scones, Finger sandwiches, (Eggy with smoked paprika, Dilled Cream cheese and cucumber) Baked treats and tartlets all served on a disposable but elegant 3 tier tray that the customer gets to keep.
