Chennai Chai was created to bring authentic South Indian chai to Las Vegas, a city with limited South Asian cuisine and no dedicated chai shops. Inspired by my childhood in Tamil Nadu—watching roadside vendors brew and aerate chai by hand—I wanted to recreate that tradition using real ingredients, no syrups, and a fully manual brewing process. Nevada was the natural place to launch: it is business-friendly, culturally diverse, and, in my view, the food capital of the West Coast. We also believe culture should be accessible, which is why we focus on quality without gatekeeping and source our milk locally from Anderson Dairy. Chennai Chai is more than a beverage brand; our goal is to expand South Asian and South Indian cultural visibility and eventually build a brick-and-mortar hub for community events. My work helping food entrepreneurs reminded me that business should tie to purpose—Chennai Chai allows me to model that for the students and founders I support.
