Ripcord Farm is at the beginning of the life-long project of regenerating sandy, desert soil, and growing healthful food that’s accessible to more of our community.
Planting cover crops, making and spreading veggie-based compost (made from local feedstocks), and planting windbreaks/hedgerows of native and adapted trees, shrubs, herbs, and perennial flowers are a few of the practices that Ripcord employs to demonstrate the regenerative capacity of nature here in the high desert. And to remind us of the importance of carefully observing Nature’s patterns, and working in synergy with them.
Our produce is available year-round through our online store, seasonally at the Great Basin Community Food Co-op, and occasionally sprinkled into dishes at local restaurants.
