Selena Porter, Founder, inventor, I started Lux Pillows Plus LLC in November 2017 to design pretty throw pillows because I LOVE décor. However, I’ve struggled with bouts of insomnia since I was a teenager. By May 2018 it organically evolved to create a sleep solution for myself and my mom. Wellness is a BIG priority for me because, when I was 13 years old, eight massive lumps developed in my neck overnight. I still remember how terrifying it was to hear the doctor say, it might be leukemia. Next came a painful three-day hospital stay for a biopsy. Then an agonizing two week wait for results. Thankfully, it was not cancer. Focusing on self-care and wellness became a lifelong priority. Sleep is the optimizer for everything wellness. I love to raise awareness for quality sleep and designing products that encourages and support good sleep health.
